RUN-UP EVENT
DANIELE WILMOUTH
VDFA also presented Daniele Wilmouth at
a pre-festival event.
Daniele Wilmouth is a professional filmmaker and
faculty member of the School of Art Institute of
Chicago and Columbia.
Wilmouth shared excerpts from her documentary
"Eleanor and the Time Keeper" which starred local
residents from the Emlenton area. Following this event
Wilmouth had a work-in-progress screening and benefit
for this film at the Cranberry Mall Theatre.
This program took place at the Crawford Center,
Emlenton, on August 2nd and was open to the public.
It provided another opportunity for the community
to meet a professional filmmaker whose family is
from Venango county.
The run-up event for 2009 featured the screenings of two
past winners and an open question-and-answer session
between the filmmakers and the public.
Paul and Nancy Newbury were present to discuss
"The Emlenton Mill" which won first place in 2008.
Matthew Hovis presented the "Iron Furnances of Venango
County" which won second place in 2008.
VDFA hosted the program at the Crawford Center, Emlenton,
on July 8th. This was an event for the public to personally
meet local filmmakers and learn more about their craft and
creativity. VDFA plans to host such run-up programs regularly.
