Mission Statement
To enhance the visibility of Venango County and extend our vision by promoting regional digital films and filmmakers.
The Festival
VDFF accepts submissions from all mainstream genres. (see submission guidelines)
The screenings are selected by the committee. The cash prize winners are selected by an independent judge. Audience members
vote for a Peoples' Choice Award.
The screenings are held for three nights at the historical buildings of The Crawford Center at Emlenton,
the DeBence at Franklin and at the Rhoades Auditorium of Clarion University's Venango campus.
The first festival was held in 2007. In 2009 a Youth Category was added. Also that year, special pre-events were held before
the festival. These events are open to the public and allow opportunities for amateur and professional filmmakers to
share and discuss their creative ventures and technical processes. These events are also learning opportunities for
the history and cultural of Venango County. In 2010 a video workshop for youths was added in addition to pre-fest events.
The Film Committee
VDFF is a not-for-profit association supported by county residents and local businesses. It is not affiliated with any other arts
group in Venango County and operates independently. It is not part of any city or regional level funding program.
The fest committee consists of local culture and film enthusiasts. We are committed to promoting regional heritage
and provide filmmakers with opportunities to publically share their art .
