~Why do you make films: Seeing something you shot or directed on the big screen, being enjoyed by others, is a feeling that I haven't found anywhere else.
~Who/What inspired you to start making films: School projects and attending Interlochen Arts Camp/Academy. I have incredible opportunities
as a high school student with access to amazing resources.
~What do you like most about making films? Being one of the creative forces behind a film, my favorite being cinematography. Once things get going on set,
it's just amazing.
~What do you dislike most about making films: Time constraints. As with everything we're almost always shooting for a deadline. I wish relaxing,
thoughtful film sets existed but I guess that's the fun of it.
~Whose work do you watch frequently and why? Woody Allen and Coen Brothers. Both of them have their own (signature) style that goes through all
their movies which I love.
~Name four things you do that gives you a break from making films: Photography. Ultimate Frisbee. Golf. Vocal Music.
~What is the most significant contribution made by short independent films to cinema and society: Allowing people to access their emotions which are very
commonly set aside. Provocative short films get to you.
~What is our next project: Currently I am Thesis Director of Photography at Interlochen Arts Academy. I'm shooting four short films while producing,
assistant directing and more on other films.
~If there is one film by you that you would want people to watch which would it be: The Snowstorm.
~If you could save one film for yourself while all films in the world were being destroyed which would it be: "The Visitor". This movie gets to me. I have a soft
side for music and Richard Jenkins is great.
~If you had to choose one film to send out into space for possible future communication with other worlds/beings which would it be: "Apocalypse Now".
It think it might prepare them for what they are in for.
